12 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | May/June 2025 11 ARBOR DAY Community volunteers' plant at Laura's Home Women's Crisis Center in Cleveland, Ohio. There, four Northwest Cleveland R/C office employees assisted in planting 20 trees donated by Davey as part of the "Trees for Threes" initiative with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Other Davey sports' planting collaborations this spring included "Score for the Trees," where six Pittsburgh area R/C offices helped plant 63 trees along the Three Rivers Heritage trail. "Swing for the Trees", a collaboration between Davey and the Cleveland Guardians, resulted in 23 Davey employees from Cleveland area R/C offices and Commercial/Landscape Services, as well as the corporate office, in planting 40 trees at the City of Cleveland's Regent Park. Each collaboration gave Davey the opportunity to donate a tree for each home three-pointer, homerun, or goal made. Overall, 123 trees were planted for Arbor Day celebrations out of the 916 trees that will eventually be distributed or planted throughout the year, including those that will be distributed through the "Birdies fore Trees" initiative. CORPORATE R/C 13: TOLEDO OFFICE Brady Kohlenberg, sales arborist, speaks about the importance of planting trees at Timberstone Junior High School in Sylvania, Ohio. Kohlenberg, along with Drake Anaya, trimmer, Steve Buford, foreman, Janet Kohler, client experience coordinator, Tyler MacDonald, sales arborist, and Charles Powell, foreman, assisted in planting and mulching 12 trees, and gifting 150 seedlings to students. 14: WHEELING AND DOWNERS GROVE OFFICE Israel Gonzalez, trimmer, (left) and Alfonso Alvarez, trimmer, (right) plant trees at Juliette Low Elementary school as part of their Arbor Day celebration with Arlington Heights Park District. John Tobias, assistant district manager, also assisted in the celebration. The school is named after Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts. The Downers Grove office participated in a planting at Jubilee Point Park in Woodridge, Illinois, as part of the Illinois Recover, Replant & Restore program. Matt Hess, district manager, and Ryan Zieche, sales arborist, helped plant 64 native trees and 20 saplings to improve the area's biodiversity and the city's goal of reforestation. 11: SOUTH DETROIT OFFICE Matthew Regoni, arborist skills trainer, health and safety department, and Derrick Jackson, sales arborist, visited students at Northville High School in Northville, Michigan, to share the way Davey uses values of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) when providing tree care. Regoni was able to demonstrate different rigging systems and knots to make the experience interactive. 12: ST. Wilson, as well as Jon Corzine, district manager, and Miguel Monita, landscape foreman, assisted in planting a yellowwood tree and holding a Q&A session with the students. 12 13 14
