The Davey Bulletin | November/December 2016
Select Davey district managers flew
in from across the U.S. to meet at the
Davey headquarters for two days to
discuss company goals and priorities.
Thirteen district managers were
selected by senior Residential/
Commercial service line management
to serve on the District Manager Client
Experience Council (DMCX), which
meets twice a year.
"The main vision is to bring in some
of our best field managers and have
them talk about ways to improve
the company by improving the client
experience," Richard Foote, vice
IMPROVING CLIENT, EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCES
NOTES
FIELD
president of business development
and client services, said.
The DMCX Council gives members
a platform to freely discuss new
ideas to improve our client and
employee experience.
"You can't have excellent client
experiences if we have poor employee
experiences," Foote said. The council
brainstorms ways to improve employee
engagement and then develops
operational changes to do so.
"One successful project that came
through the DMCX Council was the
client renewal process, in which Davey
arborists visit the properties of top
clients for annual tree checkups.
Clients love this program," Foote said.
Operational changes like this,
started since the council formed five
years ago, that help improve Davey's
current client relations and organically
grow Davey's client base.
"We've had quite a few additional
successful projects that we have
implemented," Foote said. "We are
proud of the council's collaborative
efforts and look forward to
future successes."
Two substation crews for The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited,
were driving during the work day when they spotted a man on the side
of the road struggling to extinguish a grass fire using only a shovel.
The crew members quickly stopped to assist and helped put it out. The
temporary firefighters are Danaka Hill, herbicide applicator; Chantel
Hupka, apprentice applicator; Rayla Yamiolkowski-Yanchuk, herbicide
applicator; and Karen Zahacy, herbicide applicator. All four worked on
the Altalink and Fortis AB accounts. The fire grew quickly and, without
their help, could have grown out of control.
The chief of the local fire department that responded to the fire
remarked about how impressed he was by their response.
