15 September/October 2025 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN STEWARDSHIP CREW TURNS SCRAP WOOD INTO PLAYGROUND FUN From inside their classrooms, students at Bluebird Montessori School in Delmar, New York, got to watch an Albany office crew – with their chainsaws – in action. Crew members Keegan Ciarmello, Holden Daughton and Eric Roberts took down a dead pine tree and dead wood from other trees on the property, carving the pine's pieces into tables and chairs for the students' playground. "As an employee-owned company, Davey's values are rooted in taking care of the community that surrounds them," Ciarmello, trimmer, Albany office, said. "This was an opportunity to give back in a small way, and it also allowed us to lean into our creativity to enhance the client's experience." Students at Bluebird Montessori School in New York play on the tables and chairs an Albany office crew carved after removing dead wood outside the school.
