LOUIS AFTER DEVASTATING TORNADO Multiple tornados bringing winds over 150 mph swept through the city of St. Louis and its surrounding neighborhoods, leaving toppled trees on streets, structures, homes and parks. "It was nice driving around the city and seeing how all the Davey crews came together to get the job done," Thomas Beshoar, district manager, St. Louis office, said. EXPERTISE STATE HOUSE STORM CALL When Rob Dallmann heard of toppled trees at the Maryland State House through a connection on social media, Dallmann did not hesitate. A Davey crew was on site within about 12 hours of contacting the building manager. Davey had previously done work at the statehouse, which dates back to 1772 and is the oldest U.S. state capitol in continuous legislative use. This time around, they removed one of the large basswoods that fell after a storm, and Dallmann plans to use dendrochronology to find out more about the historic trees they worked on. "This speaks to the power of networking," Dallmann, district manager, Annapolis office, Residential/ Commercial services, said. "Because of the connections I have made, people know I am an arborist, and they know I care. It was fulfilling to know that we have the power to makes things happen." The Maryland State House is the oldest operating U.S. state capitol.
