SOUTH DETROIT OFFICE PREPARES PARK SPACE
Residential/Commercial (R/C) services' South Detroit offi ce
worked on two projects for A Place of Refuge, a nonprofi t
whose mission is to assist youth in southeastern Michigan
transition from foster care to adult living.
The crew helped beautify and clear space for a pocket
park on Birwood Avenue. They also spent several days in
assisting the building and remodeling of a short-term living
facility for the organization.
"It's nice to be able to give this space a fresh start," said
Stephen Paluchniak, foreman. "Especially if it's to make the
area safer and more worthwhile for the community."

worked closely with Friends of the
Riverfront, an organization that
maintains nature trails along the
Monongahela River, to clean up
hazardous limbs and trees within
Baldwin Riverfront Park to make the
paths safer and viewing areas more
accessible to the public.

to the contracted work, the crew also removed
some dead boxelder maple trees pro-bono.
DAVEY RIDES TOUR DES TREES
Pictured from left are Adam Cervin, market manager, New England

corporate offi ce; during a stop at Martha's Vineyard in West Tisbury,
Massachusetts, during this year's Tour des Trees. Other Davey riders
participated virtually, including Lori Brockelbank, area manager,
Environmental Consulting services, Davey Resource Group; and
Kodi Riedel, diagnostic laboratory supervisor, Davey Institute. Those
who participated in-person rode either fully or partially along the
425-mile route starting in Stamford, Connecticut, and ending in
Providence, Rhode Island. Participants raised funds to support the
Tree Research and Education Endowment (TREE) Fund, a nonprofi t
who awards funding to support scientifi c research, education programs,
and scholarships supporting the fi eld of arboriculture and urban forestry.
