A selection committee from each institution chose the students who received scholarships and the amount they received based on academic potential, demonstrated work ethic, extracurricular activities, and fi nancial need. The undergraduate student scholarship recipients are pursuing degrees related to the green industry, including arboriculture, horticulture, landscape, turf science, forestry, or related courses of study. "The Davey Arbor Grant scholarship program is a good opportunity for our company to recognize the signifi cant contributions college faculty make in the development of future green leaders," said Brigitte Orrick, director of recruiting and employee development. "We award grants to schools where we have a long-standing relationship of hiring students, or we want to support new and developing programs in regions where we struggle to hire talent."
