25 May/June 2018 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Jeff Crites has been promoted to operations manager of the Residential/ Commercial (R/C) Midwest and Eastern Great Lakes region. Crites started with Davey in 1986 as a lawn care technician in the Akron R/C office. He earned promotions to tree care foreman, sales arborist, assistant district manager, district manager of Davey's Canton R/C office and, most recently, market manager of Midwest R/C operations. Crites is an ISA Certified Arborist ® . He is a D.I.T.S. graduate and a past member of the Davey President's Council. Mike Mittiga has been promoted to vice president of utility operations, Atlantic. Mittiga joined Davey Tree in 2006 as a management trainee in Florida. Later in 2006, he advanced to general foreman and then again in 2008 to account manager. In 2012, Mittiga was named senior account manager and then area manager in 2013. He was promoted to regional operations manager in 2015 and most recently held the role of vice president of the Upper Atlantic region. Mittiga holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kent State University. He is a 2009 D.I.T.S. graduate and served as a member of the Davey President's Council. Pat Perry has been promoted to vice president of safety and employee development, the Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited. Perry joined Davey in 1986 and has held various field and management positions relating to leadership, policy development, client relations, quality assurance, project development and human resources. In 2016 he was promoted to Canadian safety director. He is chair of the board of directors for HortEducation British Columbia and is director of the Western Utility Arborist Association. He has more than 40 years of experience in the green industry including as an industry instructor and speaker. Lou Stevens has been promoted to regional vice president, PG&E operations, the Davey Tree Surgery Company. Stevens joined Davey in 1976 as a groundman and has held several roles of increasing responsibility since then. Most recently, he held the position of operations manager for Davey Tree Surgery Company. Stevens is an ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist ™ . He served as a member of the Davey President's Council and is a D.I.T.S. graduate. Bill Van Cura has been promoted to regional vice president of Utility operations, Upper Atlantic. Van Cura has 35 years of experience in the green industry, including nearly 25 years of utility vegetation management service experience. He was the district manager of The Care of Trees, a Davey company, Hamden, Connecticut, R/C office and, most recently, Van Cura served as the corporate operations manager for Eastern Utility services. Van Cura holds an associate's degree in science from the State University of New York at Cobleskill. Laura Wimer has been promoted to director of client experience, Eastern Utility. Wimer joined Davey in 2008 as an operations administrator in Utility services, and in 2015 she was promoted to financial manager of Eastern Utility. Wimer holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and administration from Hiram College and a master's degree in business administration from Tiffin University.
