BRINGING CHRISTMAS
TO LOCAL FAMILIES
Davey Institute employees rolled up their sleeves and
embraced the spirit of the holidays. In December, Chrissy
Balk, Debbie Miller, Heidi Siciliano, Vid Steponavicius,
Shawn Skilton, Shawn Fitzgerald, Mary Schaefer, Jim Zwack
and R.J. Laverne volunteered at the Amelia DiGirolamo
Center of Hope. While there, they organized and sorted toys
and clothing for parents to pick up as Christmas presents
for their children. They also helped to sort food for families
to pick up.
Jim Zwack and R.J. Laverne sort through wrapping paper to put
the finishing touches on the presents parents will pick up for their
children from the Center of Hope.
DAVEY ON PARADE
The Brandywine R/C office participated
in the annual Christmas parade for
the town of Claymont, Delaware.
Usually for a Christmas parade one
might imagine it would be snowy and
cold. But, for this parade the weather
was nice and sunny.
Employees and their families
represented Davey by walking next
to a bucket truck all decorated for the
holiday season.
Participating in the parade were: Erik Winter,
foreman, Brandywine R/C office, and his
daughter; Mike Hadley, assistant district
manager, and his daughter; Mike Holleran,
sales arborist and his fiancé; and Anne
Exelby, trimmer trainee.
A SPECTACULAR LIGHT SHOW
Jason Woolsey, foreman, Kitchener, Ontario office, Davey Tree Expert Co.
of Canada, Limited, helped a client put lights in a tree for their holiday party.
The client said the party was wonderful. They sent a thank you message to
Woolsey and his crew, expressing their gratitude for a job well done.
"Everyone thanked us for doing the lights again this year and told us how
much pleasure they get from it," the client said. "So, thanks to you, and to
your crew, for doing a wonderful job yet again."
The client said neighbors and their children came
to view the tree, and the kids especially loved it.
