Ottman Award for volunteer of the year from
the TREE Fund. The award, established in

Bernard Brenman Award from the Alexandria Archaeology Commission for work unearthing historic
artifacts as part of a development project on the Potomac River waterfront. The honor is bestowed
on entities involved in extraordinary efforts of preservation, research, enhancement and outreach
regarding the history of the city of Alexandria, Virginia. Read about the work done by Thunderbird
Archeology in The Davey Bulletin's May/June issue. Congratulations!
Sarah Palagyi has been named to the
Weatherhead School of Management Alumni
Advisory Council for a three-year term. Palagyi,
who is a senior project manager in marketing,
was among 29 applicants for about a dozen
open positions on the council. The council's
volunteer members represent diverse values,
academic backgrounds and professional
accomplishments, along with a wide
geographic dispersion, of the Weatherhead
School of Management alumni and collaborate
with faculty and staff to strengthen the
alumni base. Congrats, Sarah!

research of the Financial Executives Research
Foundation (FERF) 2016-2017 board of
trustees. FERF is a non-profit research affiliate
of Financial Executives International (FEI).
Researchers for FERF determine important
financial issues and create objective, timely
analyses for FEI members and nonmembers.
Sucic is vice president and controller at Davey.
Congratulations, Nick!
Keith Cottle received the Certified Utility
Safety Professional (CUSP) Blue credential
from the Utility Safety & Ops Leadership
Network (USOLN) seminar in Crystal Lake,
Illinois. The CUSP Blue certification requires
three years of utility operations leadership
experience and at least one year in a safety
initiative role. Cottle, production manager for
Davey Resource Group (DRG), was accepted
to attend the two-day seminar to take the CUSP
Blue exam. It proved the most difficult exam
Cottle's ever taken. He's excited to use what
he learned to improve DRG's safety initiatives
across the board. "I would recommend anyone
at Davey to go to this seminar," Cottle said.
"It's not just about safety. It's about leadership,
human performance and all the standards we
deal with on a daily basis."
Congratulations, Keith!
