Now, the company has expanded all the way to one of the southern- most points of the U.S. In August, Davey acquired Lawn Logic Landscaping, LLC, in Davie, Florida. This brings the company's total number of acquisitions this year to five, following Maier Tree & Lawn in Rochester, Minnesota; Superior NW Tree & Shrub Care, Inc., in Seattle, Washington; Cortese Tree Specialists in Knox- ville, Tennessee; and Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., in Gainesville, Virginia. With the acquisition of Lawn Logic, Davey increases its presence in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Pat Covey, president and chief operating officer of U.S. operations, says Davey is committed to future growth—organically and through acquisitions. "We will continue to focus on high-quality companies with customer demographics that are similar to our own, within markets where we want to grow," he says. "Our goal is always to choose talented, safety-conscious employees intent on providing high-level customer service." Regional Manager Jason Bassler will help integrate Lawn Logic into Davey. Also joining Jason in the new management team will be Assistant Branch Manager Manny Nassar. Lawn Logic has offered many aspects of commercial landscape care to the southeast Florida area for more than 10 years, including landscape maintenance, tree maintenance, fertilization and irrigation. Norm's Tree Service, which was founded in 1999, provided tree and landscape services to approximately 2,000 clients. Joining Forces Up North techniques and equipment," says Jim Skiera, executive director of ISA. Davey also supports the planning and coordination of the ITCC by sending equipment and an onsite team of volunteers, judges and scorers. "Davey's support improves the quality of the event, helping it to grow and thrive," Skiera says. For the arborists and trainers who attend the event, the ITCC is also an opportunity to see how the best climbers in the world go about their job, how they make it professional and how they do it safely. "Not only does the event enrich the knowledge of current arborists, but it also provides an opportunity to attract prospective arborists in a fun, engaging way," Reid says. Davey also established a presence in the competition as Trimmer Aquilino Amador, from Davey's Nashville R/C office, qualified to compete this year after obtaining the Southern Chapter ISA title at the Southern Chapter ISA Tree Climbing Championship.
