SEED CAMPUS HOSTS FIRST D.I.T.S.
Attendees of the 2026 Davey Institute
of Tree Sciences (D.I.T.S.) have a
historic claim to fame when it comes
to their Davey careers.
The students who attended this
year forever will have bragging rights
as the very first D.I.T.S. class to
graduate from the Davey SEED
(Science, Employee Education and
Development) Campus.
The SEED Campus hosted its first-ever
D.I.T.S. session from Jan. 26 through
Feb. 20, with the usual assembly of
world-class Davey Institute instructors.
This year, instructors could bring to
bear some of the incredible resources
the campus has to offer when teaching
arboriculture and management skills
to the students.

inaugural D.I.T.S. at the SEED Campus.

STORIES WITH US
For over 150 years, Arbor Day has
been a day for planting trees and
celebrating all the benefits they offer.
The first Arbor Day was held in 1872,
which is only a few years before John
Davey founded his namesake tree
care business in 1880. Both the Arbor
Day Foundation and The Davey Tree
Expert Company share a deep-rooted
commitment to caring for trees and
the natural world.
That's part of what makes Arbor Day
so special. While some states in
the U.S., and Canada as well, have
separate days dedicated to trees, the

STORM-ORPHANED PUPPIES
RESCUED BY CREW
In January, a massive winter storm
stretched from Texas across the Gulf
Coast to the Mid-Atlantic. Communities
unaccustomed to dealing with snow,
sleet and ice were faced with the brutal
reality of navigating intense weather
conditions of Winter Storm Fern.
Davey crews rose to the occasion and
shined as they always do in the face
of adversity. Employees from all of
Davey's service lines — Residential/
Commercial, Utility, Commercial
Landscape Services and Davey
Resource Group — answered the call
to help our clients endure and recover
from the storm.
And there's an even more heart-
warming silver-lining. Davey employees
rescued a litter of puppies found
abandoned during the storm. Turn to
page 10 for the story.
