PETERS PROMOTED TO
VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL
MANAGER OF DAVEY TREE
SURGERY COMPANY
Kevin Peters has
been promoted to
vice president and
general manager of
the Davey Tree Surgery
Company, a subsidiary
of Davey Tree.
"Kevin has willingly
accepted and excelled
at every opportunity
he's been given since
joining Davey," Covey
said. "His management
has driven ample success in utility line clearance in the
western U.S., so I'm positive Kevin will continue to build
on that success in his new role."
Peters, who has a 37-year career in the arboricultural
industry, started his career at Davey in 2008 when The
Care of Trees joined Davey. Peters has served in various
positions related to field and management assignments
throughout his career.
In 2016, Peters was promoted to vice president of the
Western Operating Group, Residential/Commercial services.
His most recent promotion was in 2017, when he transferred
to the Surgery Company and became vice president.
Peters is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist
®
, a Certified
Treecare Safety Professional and a Contracts State License
Board licensee. He also holds an ISA Tree Risk Assessment
Qualification
®
credential and was a past member of the
Davey President's Council.

RESIDENTIAL/COMMERCIAL
Geoff Cowan has
been promoted to
vice president and
general manager,
U.S. Residential/
Commercial services.
"Throughout his career,
Geoff has exhibited an
ability to develop people,
deliver financial results,
lead with integrity and
compassion, and
elevate the people
around him," said Pat Covey, Davey chairman, president
and CEO. "He is the ultimate team player and one of the
most respected leaders in the company. I am confident that
he will bring great creativity and energy to this position."
Cowan started with Davey in 1983 as a tree care trainee
in the West Cleveland R/C office. In 1988, after a series
of promotions, he became district manager for the new
Kansas City R/C office, and in 1996, he transferred to the
South Chicago office as district manager.
He was promoted to market manager, North Central
Chicago-based R/C operations in 2014, and operations
manager of the same operating group in 2017. He then
became vice president, North Central R/C operations, in
2020. Cowan most recently served as vice president and
general manager, Western operations, R/C services.
Cowan is a 1987 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree
Sciences. He is also a past Davey President's Council
member, an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)
Certified Arborist
®
and a three-time recipient of Davey's
Outstanding Manager award.
