23 September/October 2025 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Carlos Andrade retired July 23, 2025, following 26 years of service. He joined Davey in 1999 as a trimmer, South Houston office, Residential/Commercial (R/C) services, and held that position for 24 years. In 2023, he became a foreman at the South Houston office and stayed there until retirement. Lee Jordan retired July 5, 2025, following 43 years of service. He joined Davey in 1981 as a groundperson, Ohio Edison account, Eastern Utility. In 2018, he was promoted to operations manager and stayed there until retirement. Joseph Mobley retired Aug. 1, 2025, following 27 years of service. He joined Davey in 1998 as a trimmer, Alabama Power account, Eastern Utility. After serving in various roles on the Alabama Power account, Mobley was named foreman in 2013 and stayed there until retirement. Peter Orszulak retired June 14, 2025, following 38 years of service. Orszulak joined Davey through The Care of Trees acquisition in 2008 as a sales arborist in the Greenwich office. He moved to the Stamford office as a sales arborist in 2012, and in early 2025 became an S&S technician, a position he held until retirement. Esteban Sifuentes retired May 7, 2025, following 25 years of service. He joined Davey in 2000 as a landscape laborer, St. Louis office, R/C. In 2004, he became a trimmer at the St. Louis office and stayed there until retirement. Cory Thomsen retired June 7, 2025, following 42 years of service. He joined Davey in 1981 as a climber, PG&E Humboldt account, Davey Tree Surgery Company. In 1983, he was promoted to foreman. In 2017, he was promoted to supervisor, PG&E North Shasta account. In 2018, he became account manager, North Shasta account, and in 2019 became operations manager, Livermore office, Surgery Company, and stayed there until retirement. Porfirio Torres retired June 27, 2025, following 32 years of service. He joined Davey in 1993 as a groundman, Santa Clara office, R/C. In 1998, he became a trimmer and in 2000 was promoted to foreman. In 2008, he moved to the South Chicago office as a foreman and stayed there until retirement. John Werner Jr. retired Aug. 1, 2025, following 28 years of service. He joined Davey in 1996 as a project leader, IT administration services, corporate office. He then moved to business systems analyst in IT business applications and later business system analyst in IT special projects, a role he stayed in until retirement. Cory Thomsen Carlos Andrade RETIREMENTS Davey Resource Group has acquired LandStudies, an ecological restoration firm based in Lititz, Pennsylvania, that has provided services including water- shed planning, stream and floodplain restoration, stormwater management and ecological landscape solutions to clients in the eastern U.S. for 35 years with its team of 60 employees. The acquisition was made by Wetland Studies and Solutions Inc. (WSSI), a Davey company, based in Gainesville, Virginia. The LandStudies' operation will retain its name as "LandStudies, a Davey company," and its employees have become part of WSSI. "We're thrilled to welcome the entire LandStudies team to WSSI," Brian Chromey, vice president, WSSI, said. "Their practical, science-based approach to water management and restoration fits naturally with our own.
