Will Ayersman's team of six performed tree canopy
assessments to map the tree canopy, and identify tree
planting locations. Ayersman is a project manager, Utility
Vegetation Management services, DRG. The team used
that data to work with MCF on prioritizing planting
locations based on stormwater, social equity, and heat
mitigation factors.
"It's a fun project where students get exposure to real life
problems in regard to the urban forest," Flint said. "Whether
it was helping a disadvantaged area, beautifying a public
space, or working closely with homeowners, it was
exciting to hear the fellows' points of view and approach to
a situation."
DRG AIDS INDIANA UNIVERSITY WITH TREE PLANTINGS
Davey Resource Group's (DRG) Environmental Consulting
services (EC) and Utility Vegetation Management services
(UVM) employees assisted Indiana University's Environmental
Resilience Institute Urban Green Infrastructure's McKinney
Climate Fellows (MCF) in performing a
science-backed, equity-based tree planting and maintenance
program over the past three years.
Eighteen EC employees, led by Aren Flint, senior associate
consultant, partnered with MCF and community members
to plant 400 trees in Indiana's Elkhart, Warsaw, Richmond,
and Evansville communities. The project is projected to run
for five years, with additional Indiana communities expected
to receive trees in 2025.

To participate in the Send-a-Friend program,
you must be an hourly employee to receive
the bonus. There are no limits to how
many referrals you submit, or how many
bonuses you can earn. Union employees'
participation is contingent on their collective
bargaining agreement.
