4 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | January/February 2025 provides us with the opportunity to get an unfiltered view of what all our employees believe are essential elements of providing an engaging, fulfilling and meaningful work environment. This kind of broad, sweeping approach to soliciting confidential responses allows for honest feedback and, subsequently, impactful actions and changes. As mentioned earlier, after your responses are collected, the next step in this process is to focus on some of the larger issues identified through your responses and dovetail them into actionable items in the 2025 Strategic Plan. Your input will help us prioritize our resources and commitments around existing and new company initiatives. For employee engagement ideas or concerns that do not make the strategic plan action items, we will attempt to address them in other ways such as communications via DaveyConnect or process and procedure modifications and clarifications. The survey allows us the opportunity to "sharpen the saw" or enhance and improve our employee experience through this good and necessary work. It is an example of our constant efforts to ensure that Davey provides an environment that allows for open, professional and creative experiences among our teammates. Making Davey a great place to work is paramount to providing our clients with exceptional service and sustainable solutions that drive value for our shareholders (us!) and allow for the professional and financial security we all desire for our families. Thank you for taking the time to participate in the survey. We take your feedback very seriously. When you see new programs and initiatives or improvements to existing ones, we want you to know they are a result of the feedback we received through the survey. Your voice matters. A. Employee engagement is a critical component of how companies measure success. We strive to develop employees who are passionate about what they do, feel that their voice is heard, and recognize that they are valued and can be successful at Davey. Engaged employees realize more fulfilling careers and ensure we will continue to exceed client expectations by providing sustainable solutions, thus supporting our commitment to provide value to our employee-owners. Employee engagement is so important to us that we made an objective centered on it in our Strategic Plan: To make Davey a great place to work while delivering client and shareholder value. By now, you should have had the opportunity to participate in the 2025 Employee Experience Survey, which was shared on DaveyConnect beginning in January and will be closing in early February. This survey was designed to solicit honest, open feedback from employees about numerous topics and initiatives here at Davey, with the ultimate goal of fulfilling our strategic plan objective of making Davey a great place to work. In fact, we have intentionally left space open in our 2025 Strategic Plan with the intent of using your survey responses to create new action items for us to prioritize and focus on this year. When we last conducted an employee experience survey about a decade ago, I believe we developed many impactful changes as a result of the feedback we received. We were able to implement improvements in our group insurance offerings, expand employee benefits, and change policies to improve working conditions in direct response to the feedback that we received from employees.
