26 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | January/February 2025 IN THE SPOTLIGHT Whitney Randolph was one of the recipients of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce's inaugural 2024 Tree City Growth award. The award was given to four young Kent, Ohio professionals to honor their exceptional contributions to the Kent area and respective profession. Randolph is a senior project manager, corporate communications. Congratulations, Whitney! Sandra Reid was named a notable leader in communications by Crain's Cleveland Business. The recognition is for communications professionals in the Cleveland, Ohio area, who perform their jobs creatively, implement innovative initiatives and brand tactics, and who give back to their community and industry through leadership and volunteer efforts. Reid is an executive vice president, corporate communications and strategic planning. Congratulations, Sandra! Brigitte Orrick was awarded the 2024 Woman Leader of the Year award by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). The award recognizes a female member of NALP who acts as an "inspiration for other women in the industry," and who has "demonstrated inspirational spirit, initiative, and passion toward the landscape, tree care, and lawn care industry," according to NALP's website. Orrick is the director of talent development. Congratulations, Brigitte! Pablo Sanchez, pictured third from right, was awarded the first-ever Tall in the Saddle award given by American Electric Power (AEP). The award was created in memorial of a late AEP forestry supervisor and is given to those who "have exhibited the highest regard for their own safety, and the safety of others while working with all persons on the AEP system." Sanchez is a UVM specialist, Utility Vegetation Management services (UVM), Davey Resource Group (DRG). Sanchez was joined at the awards ceremony by UVM, DRG employees Nicolaas Seaman (second from left) project manager, Michael Sultan (second from right), manager, Western region, and Jack McCabe (far right), vice president and general manager. Congratulations, Pablo! Davey placed in the top ten in the National Center for Employee Ownership's (NCEO) annual 2024 Employee Ownership 100 list. The list ranks "the largest broad-based employee-owned companies in the U.S.," according to NCEO's website. Congratulations, Davey employees! Alex Spoly was inducted into the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF)'s 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee class for competitive timber sports, and was recognized for her collegiate accomplishments and life committment to the sport of woodchopping. According to ESF's website, the hall of fame aims to honor those "whose contributions have brought distinction, honor, and excellence to ESF athletics." Spoly is a project manager, Utility Vegetation Management services, Davey Resource Group. Congratulations, Alex! Natalie McNeill received this year's Gene Eyerly award from the International Society of Arboriculture's Rocky Mountain Chapter (RMC). According to their website, the award is given "to individuals deemed to have given an extraordinary effort to lead the RMC further along its mission." McNeill is an operations manager, Residential/Commercial services. Congratulations, Natalie!
