27 January/February 2025 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN RETIREE ENJOYS RELAXED LIFESTYLE IN RETIREMENT Sinclair Weeks began his career in 1980, when he started his own landscaping business and graduated with a degree in plant sciences from the University of New Hampshire. Later, he took landscape design courses at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study before joining the tree care industry with Hartney Greymont around 1990. After Davey acquired Hartney Greymont, a Davey company, in 2010, Weeks continued his work as a sales arborist at the Needham office until his retirement in 2017. According to Weeks, he wanted to continue his career with Davey due to the company's values and esteemed reputation. "We always had good crews and were able to provide high-quality work," Weeks said. "It made my job easy and enjoyable." During his career, Weeks was able to become an ISA Certified Arborist ® , as well as do what he loves best – interacting with and helping clients. "I enjoyed being an arborist, making recommendations to people, and then getting to see them be happy with our work," Weeks said. Have stories to share about retirement or your life at Davey? To be featured, or to nominate a fellow retiree, call 800-447-1667 ext. 8615 or email bulletin@davey.com. He said he doesn't have a favorite memory or project because he became immersed in each one. In retirement, he even continues to speak to some of his past clients. "It's kind of nice not to be on the go all the time," Weeks said. "Every day is a new challenge, but I'm in good shape and I'm enjoying it." When he isn't working on his property or meeting with past clients, Weeks can be found spending time with his children and three young grandchildren, as well as taking his boat out on the water that he keeps docked in Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay. "I used to fish, but now I mainly enjoy simply taking the boat out for the adventure of it all," Weeks said. "My grandkids enjoy going out, too, as well as my kids, so I hope to keep doing that for many years to come." Weeks plans to stay located in the Boston area with his wife to be close to his children and friends. "I'm pretty happy with where I am now," Weeks said. "I really enjoyed my career working with the people at Davey, as well as getting to know our clients."
