Landmann and Nielsen also conducted onsite tree tours. ARBOR DAY CLS 1: DRG ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES Aren Flint, senior associate consultant, hosted a booth at Muncie, Indiana's Arbor Day celebration held at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens. Jaxson (pictured) is Flint's nine-month-old baby, sitting on the white butcher paper spread across Davey's booth, themed "Paint Muncie's Urban Forest." Attendees painted 60 feet of butcher paper, and they created three banners to be placed in city hall and the Parks department. Flint also donated six "I Can Name 50 Trees Today!" Dr. Seuss books to area elementary schools in attendance. DRG 2: DRG ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES Gabriella Golzarian (pictured), senior inventory arborist, and Ian Scott, area manager, helped plant 19 trees and shrubs at client City of Renton, Washington's Arbor & Earth Day event on April 22. Golzarian and Scott volunteered alongside local high school students to plant 19 trees and shrubs at the Cedar River Trail Extension. 3: DRG UTILITY VEGETATION MANAGEMENT Nathan Davila, UVM technician (pictured holding a gold medallion tree), celebrated Arbor Day by supporting several San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) Sustainable Tree Program events. SDG&E's Jimmie Webb, vegetation management operational manager (pictured holding the shovel), along with Davey's Kevin Akers, project manager; Corey Vonder Reith, project manager; Annabel Rossi, UVM technician; Maddi Vilas, UVM technician; and Shane Smith, UVM technician, attended a tree planting event at Olive Peirce Middle School in Ramona, California, on March 9. The group worked alongside seventh- and eighth-grade students to plant 24 trees on school grounds and spoke to the children about the importance of Arbor Day. California's Arbor Day fell a couple of days earlier, on March 7. Davila is an alumnus of the school and had been coordinating with the school for nearly a year to plan the event. In addition, during Arbor Day week, Davila delivered 5-gallon coast live oak and Torrey pine trees to Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation to be planted by volunteers along Cannon Road in Carlsbad, California. He also delivered 15-gallon trees for planting and 5-gallon trees for attendees to take home for the City of Encinitas' Arbor Day native tree planting event held on Earth Day in Leucadia Oaks Park. 1 2 3 4 4: WETLAND STUDIES AND SOLUTIONS, INC., A DAVEY COMPANY Pictured from left is Eric Sadowski, geospatial specialist, Kim Fritts, marketing specialist, and Ashley Sissel, project engineer, taking part in WSSI's fourth annual Earth Day cleanup event. Twenty-one team members, along with family members, collected bags of litter from nature and bike trails, roadways, work sites, and local businesses across Virginia and North Carolina. 1: EASTERN UTILITY SERVICES Joel Polanco, general foreman, Orlando Utilities Commission account, delivered mulch donated by Davey to client Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) for an Earth Day volunteer event.
