27 March/April 2023 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN RETIREMENTS Robert Cope retired Feb. 18, 2023, following 18 years of service. Cope was a general foreman assistant, PG&E Southern Coast account. Chris Cowles retired Jan. 7, 2023, following 26 years of service. Cowles started with Davey in 2008 through the The Care of Trees (TCOT) acquisition. Cowles transferred to Davey Resource Group (DRG) in 2011 as a sales consultant, later becoming a supervisor in 2012. In 2014, he became a project manager at Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company (WSSI), later becoming a senior associate consultant in 2018. From 2021 until retirement, Cowles was an environmental scientist specialist, WSSI. Timothy Decker retired Jan. 1, 2023, following 28 years of service. Decker started with Davey in 1994 as a foreman with the FirstEnergy account and became a trimmer in 1998. In 2000, he transferred to the Columbus office as a trimmer, then transferred to the Columbus CLS territory in 2021 as a landscape technician and served the rest of his career there. Ron Eicher retired Jan. 7, 2023, following nine years of service. Eicher was a sales arborist in the Menlo Park office. Douglas Fraser retired on Nov. 19, 2022, following 18 years of service. He was an environmental scientist, Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company (WSSI). Toby Hollins retired on Nov. 12, 2022, following 16 years of service. Hollins was a coordinator in the Washington, D.C., office. Brian Lee retired Jan. 1, 2023, following five years of service. He was a landscape technician in the Fairchild Air Force Base Military Family Housing territory. David Madden retired Jan. 1, 2023, following 23 years of service. Madden was a district manager in the South Austin office. Jeff Rinker retired on Feb. 1, 2023, following eight years of service. Rinker was a work planner, Pepco Holdings account. James Roberts retired July 23, 2022, following 17 years of service. He was a trimmer on the City of Orangeburg, South Carolina account. Alan Romero retired Sept. 24, 2022, following 18 years of service. He was a foreman on the DTE Energy account. Pittsburgh. He returned to the Kent office in 1973 as regional manager of utility sales. Heim was elected as a corporate officer in 1979. We are saddened by the loss of Victor Rubio, who passed away Jan. 6, 2023. Rubio was a trimmer at the Southeast Seattle office. Robert Whaley, retiree, passed away on Feb. 3, 2023. Whaley retired in 1999 as a trimmer with the FirstEnergy account after 28 years of service. Chris Cowles Timothy Decker William Heim MEMORIAL William Heim, retiree, passed away on Feb. 27, 2023, at the age of 95. Heim retired in 1989 as vice president and general manager of Kent Utility Services after 42 years of service. He started with Davey in 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a groundperson on the Duquesne Light operation, later becoming a line clearing foreman. Heim transferred to the Kent office personnel department in 1962. In 1965, he was promoted to utility sales representative in
