While attempting to help clear a road
hazard, Chris Clark, UVM specialist,
Davey Resource Group, Utility
Vegetation Management, Oklahoma,
found a large and strange-looking tool.
After doing research, Clark discovered
that it was a $14,000 Hurst tool used
by fire personnel to save lives. He
called around, finding a very concerned
fire chief at the Ozark Fire Station,
and was able to return the tool to the
grateful firefighters.
William E. Tapp, trimmer, Sacramento
R/C office, was awaiting an escort on
to a construction site when a man
approached him. The man's grandson
had gotten a model airplane stuck in
a tree. Tapp volunteered to remove the
plane using his pole saw. The grateful
pair tried to offer Tapp cash as a
thank-you, which he politely declined.
"It felt good helping someone out,"
Tapp said. "I'm happy to do it."
Chris Clark acted quickly to help remove a
road hazard and return it to its rightful owners.
Davey's Southeast Chicago office
donated the removal of several hazard-
ous trees to a local military family.
The military family was referred to
Davey by Project EverGreen through
their program: GreenCare for Troops.
This organization connects military
families with local lawn and landscape
service providers to help alleviate
household responsibilities at a time
when their active-duty family members
are deployed and away from home.
Marcus Parker, district manager, and
his three-person crew were grateful
for the opportunity to show their
gratitude for what our servicemen and
women give us each day by offering
support in a Davey way.

We're in complete control of the culture,
atmosphere, and environment that we set
forth for all of our employees. There are endless
opportunities. What you put into it is what
you're going to get out. I couldn't be happier
to be part of this family.
