26 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | July/August 2022 Christopher Abbe retired May 1 following 36 years of service. Abbe was a sales arborist in the East Denver office. Abbe started with Davey in 1986 in the East Denver office. Patricia Baker retired May 29 following 12 years of service. She was a coordinator in the Hartney Greymont Needham office. Cynthia Beck retired May 8 following 47 years of service. She was a business analyst in Fleet Services, corporate office. Beck started with Davey in 1975 as a clerk in the utility billing department. She was promoted to group leader in the accounts payable department in 1980, and in 1982 she was named senior clerk for fleet services. In 1983 she was promoted to accountant. She was promoted to buyer in 2000 and then to business analyst in 2020. Joseph Belfield retired June 5 following 31 years of service. Belfield was a general foreman on the CenterPoint Energy account. He started with Davey in 1991 on the San Diego Gas & Electric account and served in various roles on utility accounts for the Davey Tree Surgery Company throughout his career. Bel- field is a 2001 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences (D.I.T.S.). Keith Francies retired May 7 following 37 years of service. Francies was operations manager, Southeastern region, Residential/Commercial services. Francies started with Davey in 1985 in the Greensboro office as a trimmer. He held various positions there before being promoted to district manager of the Greensboro office. Francies is a past member of the Davey President's Council and a graduate of D.I.T.S. Ernesto Fernandez retired May 29 following 38 years of service. Fernandez was a foreman in the East Denver office. Fernandez joined Davey in 1984. William Jurgens retired May 11 following 7 years of service. He was a sales arborist for Jones Bros., a Davey company. Joseph Kitchie retired May 3 following 24 years of service. He was branch manager, Tampa CLS territory. Kitchie joined Davey in 1998 to oversee the Tampa territory. Chris Klimas retired May 6 following 38 years of service. Klimas was operations manager, Mid-Atlantic region, Residential/Commercial services. Klimas started with Davey in 1984 as a foreman at the Washington, D.C., office. He was promoted to various positions within the office before being named assistant district manager in 1989 and then district manager in 1991. In 2001, he was promoted to operations manager. Klimas is a past member of the Davey President's Council and a graduate of D.I.T.S. He is a recipient of The Best of Davey Leadership Award. Gordon Matthews retired April 30 following 40 years of service. Matthews was market manager, Great Lakes Central region, R/C services. Matthews started with Davey in 1982 as a lawnscape technician in the Detroit lawnscape office. In 1985 he was promoted to assistant district manager and in 1989 he transferred to the Akron R/C office, where he became district manager in 1996. Matthews was promoted to market manager in 2016. Matthews is a past member of the Davey President's Council and a graduate of D.I.T.S. Axel Oschmann retired May 29 following 31 years of service. Oschmann started at Davey in 1991 as a general foreman on the National Grid account. Oschmann served in various roles in Utility services and Davey Resource Group throughout his career before being promoted to account manager, Eastern Utility services, in 2019.
