Annapolis Magazine's Best of Annapolis 2022 Reader's Poll. More than 25,000 ballots were cast in the reader poll and selections were made for more than 175 local businesses in the Annapolis area. Congratulations, Chesapeake team! Christopher Dempsey earned his Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) designation from the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council's CBLP program. Receiving this CBLP designation means that the recipient "demonstrates an advanced level of professionalism and knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices for a healthier Chesapeake Bay," according to the CBLP. Christopher is the branch manager for Davey's Suffolk Commercial Landscape Services territory. Congrats, Christopher! Dr. Dan Herms was awarded the 2022 Entomology Distinguished Alumnus Award by Michigan State University's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Department of Entomology. Dr. Herms received the award and gave a lecture at the awards ceremony in April. Dr. Herms is the vice president of research and development, Davey Institute. Congratulations, Dan! Amy Murray has been appointed as a board member of the Right-Of-Way Stewardship Council (ROWSC). The ROWSC is an "accreditation program that has established standards for responsible right-of-way (ROW) vegetation management along corridors," according to ROWSC. Accredited utilities demonstrate long-term practices that ensure safety, security, access, and regulatory compliance in an environmentally beneficial manner. Murray is a project developer, Davey Resource Group, Utility Vegetation Management. Congratulations, Amy! Kevin Ptacek was elected to represent Ohio restoration professionals as the State Representative for the Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter of the Society of Ecological Restoration's (SER-MWGL) Board of Directors. The mission of SER-MWGL is "to promote the science and practice of ecological restoration to assist with the recovery and management of degraded ecosystems throughout the Midwestern and Great Lakes region of the U.S." Ptacek is an associate consultant, Davey Resource Group, Environmental Consulting. Congratulations, Kevin! IN THE SPOTLIGHT Jeffrey Lambert (pictured fourth from left) was recently elected president of the Rotary Club of Nyack. Members of the Rotary Club of Nyack are "dedicated people who share a passion for both community service and friendship," according to the club. Jeffrey is a sales arborist in the Rockland office. Congratulations, Jeffrey!
