DUKE CAROLINA ACCOUNT PASSED SAFETY MILESTONE
Congratulations to the employees who worked on super-
visor Willie Richardson's work group on the Duke Energy
South and Central Transmission account for achieving more
than 2,000 days without an OSHA recordable incident.
The employees on this account performed all manual
climbing for line clearance work with little or no equipment
assistance due to the remote nature of the utility rights-of-
way they maintained in the Asheville, North Carolina, area.
Josh Pressley, area manager, said there are two employees
in the crews with 20 years of service at Davey and another
with 17 – all of whom have worked together since their first
days with the company.
"So, it's more or less like they are working with their family,
and that extends to the rest of the crew members," Pressley
said. "It's their mindset. They're not going to risk a shortcut.
Richardson, their supervisor, Gary Jones, who was also a
senior supervisor on this account, and others were all
instrumental in building the safety culture keeping
safety-minded employees on the crews."

incident-free days since in 2021. Pictured above, from left, are groundman
Jacqua Laney, foreman Sujel Aguilar, foreman Jose Guevara and

the crews worked on. A total 68 employees were working on the
account when Richardson's work group reached the 2,000 days milestone.
