A NAVAL CARE PACKAGE
Mike Surovey, landscape technician, Cleveland West
territory, donated 50 Davey logoed neck gaiters to the
U.S. Navy as a thank you gift for serving. Petty Officer 2nd
Class Ricky Kelly, a friend of Surovey's who serves as a
Naval Air Operations facilities coordinator with Operations
Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield, received the gaiters
Reservist members of various Naval Operational Support Centers,
known as the Death Stalkers, pose wearing Davey gaiters in front
of a C-17 before they leave for an undisclosed location.

Naval service members serving overseas.
ROTARY CENTENNIAL GROVE PLANTED IN WOOSTER
Founded in 1921, the Wooster
Rotary Club in Wooster, Ohio,
celebrates its centennial in 2021 and
wanted to commemorate the event
by establishing a memorial grove at
Oak Hill Park. The club contacted
Dan Herms, vice president of research
and development, the Davey Institute,
who arranged for 27 different
ornamental and shade trees to be
delivered to the park. The trees were
donated by Secrest Arboretum at the

Ohio Agricultural Research and
Development Center (OARDC),
which was looking to thin its inventory
of trees, and a crew from the Davey
Nursery in Wooster, including Rick
Hanshaw, branch manager, Dennis
Claus and Jason Garber, moved the
trees to the new location using a
90-inch tree spade.
