6 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | January/February 2020 TRANSITIONS Scott Carlin Scott Carlin was promoted to vice president and general manager, Davey Resource Group, asset management services. Carlin joined Davey in 2004 as project developer on the DRG geographic information systems (GIS) team. In 2006 he transitioned to sales and marketing for DRG project development and in 2009 was named market manager. In 2012 he was promoted to market manager of DRG project development and then division manager in 2015. In 2016 he was promoted to vice president of DRG project development before transitioning to vice president of asset management services in 2018. "Every day Scott approaches projects with an enthusiasm that carries through to his team. As Davey's clients and projects evolve, Scott's leadership and dedication to excellence also grows," said Brent Repenning, executive vice president, U.S. Utility and DRG. Carlin has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Toledo. He is a past member of the Davey President's Council. Mike Mittiga Mike Mittiga was promoted to vice president and general manager, Eastern Utility services. He will oversee operations for all aspects of Eastern Utility and will report to Brent Repenning, executive vice president, U.S. Utility and DRG. "Mike's dedication, tenacity and leadership have earned him a reputa- tion for exceeding client expectations," Repenning said. "I look forward to his continued success in helping to build the future of Davey's utility services." Mittiga started at Davey in 2006 as a management trainee and trimmer. He was promoted to supervisor the same year. From 2008 to 2018 he served as account manager, senior account manager, area manager, and operations manager, for various accounts, including as vice president, Upper Atlantic region. He was most recently vice president of operations, Atlantic region. Mittiga is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist ® and an ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist ® . He is a past member of the Davey President's Council and is a 2009 D.I.T.S. graduate. Mark Svozil Mark Svozil was promoted to vice president and general manager, Commercial Landscape Services (CLS). "Mark's excellent work ethic, leadership skills, passion and dedication to the company have been instrumental in the growth and success of the service line," said Dan Joy, executive vice president and general manager, CLS and Operations Support service. Svozil started at Davey in 1992 as a landscape foreman in the West Cleveland Residential/Commercial (R/C) office. He was promoted to landscape coordinator in 1995 and landscape management coordinator in 2000. He was promoted to account manager, Cleveland CLS territory, and in 2001 was named branch manager. In 2006 he was promoted to operations manager, Midwest region, CLS, vice president in 2013, and senior vice president in 2016. Svozil is an ISA Certified Arborist ® and a National Association of Landscape Professionals Certified Manager. He is a 1995 D.I.T.S. graduate and a past member of the Davey President's Council.
