35 November/December 2019 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN On behalf of Davey, Jack McCabe, vice president and general manager, utility vegetation management, Davey Resource Group (right), accepted the Utility Arborists Association (UAA) Partners in Excellence (PinE) Award at the UAA Annual Meeting. This award recognizes that the UAA's success is based on the support received from their members, volunteers and sponsors. Davey's UAA membership, sponsorship, advertising, active committee volunteerism, and many other means were quantified and assigned a value, thus adding up to equal our PinE score. This is reviewed by a committee of industry peers, scored and awarded at the UAA Annual Meeting. Congratulations! Adam Jackson, district manager, Orlando R/C office, was elected to a one-year term as president of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Florida Chapter. In this role, Jackson is responsible for overseeing the committees and board of directors. "I love our industry and what it stands for," Jackson said. "I just want to play my part in helping our future grow." Congratulations, Adam! Sarah Palagyi, senior project manager, corporate marketing, was elected president of the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management Alumni Advisory Council (AAC). AAC members serve three-year terms. As president, Palagyi leads a group of engaged alums as they work collaboratively on activities and programs to engage fellow alumni, creating and supporting meaningful opportunities for continued learning and engagement with each other, Weatherhead students and the school. "I enjoy serving on the AAC because it is an opportunity to support an institution that has supported me throughout my career," she said. Congratulations, Sarah! Simon Arsenault retired Sept. 1, 2019, following 22 years of service. Arsenault was a heavy equipment operator, Fortis account, in Alberta, Canada. He started with Davey in 1990 as a foreman on the ATCO Electric account. William Duke Bryan retired Sept. 1, 2019, following four years of service. He was a foreman on the City of Ocala account in Florida. Bryan began his career with Wolf Tree in 2009, spent time working elsewhere before returning to Davey in 2015 as a foreman, Duke Florida Distribution account. Tomas Cerna retired Aug. 11, 2019, following 16 years of service. Cerna was a climber on the CenterPoint Energy account. Frederick Ingledue, Jr. retired Sept. 22, 2019, following 35 years of service. He was a foreman on the FirstEnergy account. Ingledue started his career with Davey in 1984 as a groundperson. In 1992 he was promoted to foreman on the FirstEnergy account and then worked various years on the Penn Power, the Ohio Cooperative and Nsource accounts. Thomas Ketelaar retired Sept. 1, 2019, following 30 years of service. Ketelaar was a trimmer with the South Chicago office. Ketelaar began his career with Davey's South Chicago office as a foreman after the Berquist Tree Experts acquisition in 1989. He worked as an equipment operator for The Care of Trees Illinois Region in 2013 before returning to the South Chicago office as foreman. RETIREMENTS Bruce Zearfross retired Sept. 29, 2019, following 30 years of service. Zearfross was a work planner on the Med Ed T&M account. He began his career at Davey in 1989. Zearfross was promoted to foreman and general foreman on the FirstEnergy MetEd and PPL Electric accounts in 2007 and 2008 before transitioning to work planner in 2017 on the Med Ed T&M account and general foreman on the FirstEnergy CEI T&M account in 2019.
