" ACQUISITIONS HOUSTON-BASED LMS, INC., JOINS DAVEY TREE Davey has announced the acquisition of certain assets of LMS, Inc. (Landscape Management Services), a commercial landscape management company based in Houston, Texas. The company provides landscape and irrigation maintenance and new construction services to more than 60 commercial properties in the greater Houston area. The majority of the 60-person LMS team will remain on staff, and the owner, Jeff Corcorran, will remain for a few months to help make a smooth transition. Corcorran said he was drawn to Davey because of its sterling reputation and opportunities for his employees. "Having lived and worked in the area for 36 years, I always respected the Davey operations in Houston," Corcorran said. Corcorran said he was impressed with Davey as an employee-owned company and appreciated the choices that structure gives LMS employees. "I want to make sure my employees have a bright future, and I know that at Davey, they'll have many opportunities to learn and grow," he said. DAVEY SUBSIDIARY WSSI EXPANDS CAPABILITIES IN VIRGINIA Davey has announced the acquisition of the assets of Kerr Environmental Services, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, by Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI), a Davey company. Kerr Environmental Services provides environmental consulting, including wetland and stream delineations and permitting, wetland and stream restoration and mitigation consulting, watershed planning, natural areas management, endangered species consulting, contaminant investigations, and NEPA studies. The owner, Bob Kerr, will remain at the company as director of tidewater operations, as well as his eight employees. Kerr was excited about joining WSSI, which is a recognized leader in their field. "Furthermore, this sale provides our clients with a deeper and broader capability of services," Kerr said. "This also allows us to stay focused on cutting-edge service, high-quality results and value.
