THE DAVEY BULLETIN
ASK THE CEO
Q. Why is it important for different Davey service lines
to work together?
A. One of Davey's strengths is our ability to collaborate and harness
the many different capabilities of our teams. These collaborations
can be impactful for our company because they help build loyalty
with our clients. But to make these collaborations happen, all of us
need to think of the whole – Davey Tree – and not just of the
individual service lines. When we do that, great things can happen.
Take, for example, Woodlawn cemetery. The job grew from a DRG
tree inventory, to commercial work and then residential tree work.
We even involved the Davey Institute and helped install a butterfly
garden. No other company can manage a project with that many
facets. It showcased our ability to work together and gave the best
options to the client.
But none of that can happen without you. In order for us to hear
about these opportunities, we need everyone to make sure we're
really listening to the clients. We need to hear where they need
our assistance.
Then once you identify a need, say something. Even if you don't
know who at Davey can help the client, others do. Share your
idea with your supervisors or reach out to the National Business
Development Team. They are here to help identify and facilitate that
collaboration.
These opportunities for collaboration can showcase to our clients
the many ways Davey's breadth of services can help solve their
problems.

the rear of our residence. Under the
supervision of Richard Davison, the
Davey team, headed by Dietrich
Smith and foreman Rolando Croke
performed their assigned tasks not
only expediently and professionally,
but politely and considerately,
cooperating with my personal request
to leave any sizeable pieces for my
use as firewood. Rolando not only cut
down the few large pieces to burnable
size, but he actually stacked them in
a small pile for me.

RAPPAHANNOCK
ELECTRIC ACCOUNT
Charles Embry wanted to extend
a huge "atta boy" to the crew that
cleared the right-of-way in his area.
He says too many times we receive
complaints and he believes when
someone does a good job it's his
responsibility to let them know.
He said not only did they clear the
right-of-way, but there were some
trees he was concerned with and
they took care of those trees as well.

Thank you for the excellent crew
you dispatched to trim our trees.
They did an expert job. They were
polite and professional. We will call
you when we are ready to take down
the camphor tree.
