As you open its pages, the first MyDavey Bulletin of the
new year may look like a new magazine to you. Yet that
couldn't be further from the truth for the 106-year-old Davey
Company flagship publication.
Instead, what you'll find behind the cover of this issue is
more like a fresh take on a tried-and-true favorite recipe. The
same great ingredients remain, but the way they are pre-
pared and the order that they're added to the pot may have
changed slightly – and a few new fixings have been added.
First you may notice the design. If you've read the 2014
Corporate Responsibility Report (which you can find on
davey.com), then it should look familiar to you. We hope
you'll find this new design, which aligns with other corporate
communications, easier to read.
Some features have new names. The "Mailbox" section
has moved closer to the cover and is now titled "Client
Satisfaction." The "MyDavey" section is now reserved for
a select few feature stories per issue that truly express
what Davey means to you, your clients and communities.
Certain submissions now appear as news briefs under the
"Bulletin Board" and "Field Notes" labels.
"Above the Canopy" looks at big-picture endeavors that
have company-wide effects. New quote boxes emphasize
company values such as safety and employee ownership.
Regular sections, such as "Davey People" and "Davey
Families," are unchanged from a content perspective –
although they benefit from the new style visually.
There will be more, gradual changes as we move through
2016. Our goal is to enhance the flavor, not change the
taste, of the MyDavey Bulletin.
And so we still need your help telling your stories. Your input
and your perspectives matter. Help ensure the MyDavey
Bulletin speaks for all of us. Send your story submissions
and photos to bulletin@davey.com.

THE SECRET INGREDIENT IS... YOU
"Safety training is very important. The more you
know safety protocols, the more knowledgeable
you appear to the public. I'm lucky my boss
recognizes it's more important to complete a
normal amount of work safely than complete
an enormous amount of work unsafely. It's nice
to see a greater emphasis on safety at Davey–it
makes me feel confident and that I'm doing
the right thing."
