EMPLOYEE CHASES
STORMS IN FREE TIME
Ethan Mulnix, Geographic Information System (GIS)
fi eld technician for Davey Resource Group's (DRG)
Utility Asset Management division, joined Davey in
2019 and enjoys mapping overhead and underground
utility infrastructure such as overhead poles,
underground manholes and underground vaults,
especially when the electric grid in major metro cities
are underground. However, his true passion is weather
and climate.
Outside of work, Mulnix is part of a non-profi t storm
chasing team conducting research and storm rescue
efforts across the lower 48 states. Mulnix has chased
tornadoes for over 10 years, and his team was the fi rst
to successfully put a 360-degree camera probe inside
a tornado.
Mulnix appreciates that DRG gives him opportunities
to pursue his interests.
"My managers and coworkers take time to listen
to my passions, discuss the future and support our
collective success," Mulnix said. "I always feel seen
and heard."
