'CHILI OPEN' GOLF OUTING
SUPPORTED SPECIAL KIDS
Laura Wimer's weekends are dedicated to volunteering for
the Patriot Project, an organization that provides chiropractic
care to active military members, their families, wounded
warriors and all Gold Star dependents.
Wimer, director of client experience, Eastern Utility, became
involved through Dr. Timothy Novelli, her chiropractor and
founder of the Patriot Project. She started out small with
the organization, but now she assists with the organization's
social media, helps drum up support and tackles any other
tasks thrown her way.
"I think we all appreciate and love our veterans, but I don't
know that we've all seen first-hand the struggles that go
along with coming back from war," she said. "I feel like
anything we can do to help veterans that have ensured our
freedoms and been through so much, that pulls at my heart
strings and I will do whatever I can to help."
Laura Wimer attended the Patriot Ball, a black-tie military ball fundraiser for the Patriot Project, for years and discovered a chance to use
her skills to help Dr. Timothy Novelli. "Never underestimate the impact you can make on another person's life," Wimer said. "It doesn't
matter how big or small the gesture." Davey's corporate office, Utility services and Commercial Landscape Services sponsored the dinner.
