In 2019, we're trying something different to try to clarify and amplify that role. The titles of individual sections in the Bulletin are changing. Now you're going to see stories under new labels that reflect the values, vision and mission of the Davey Company. Here's a reminder of what those are and what we stand for as a company. Our Values: Integrity, safety, expertise, improvement, leadership and resolve. Our Vision: Provide solutions that promote balance among people, progress and the environment. Our Mission: Deliver unmatched excellence in client experience, employee strength, safety and financial sustainability as we advance the green industry. You'll see new color-coded labels to help you identify stories that show a territory, office, crew or employee who exemplifies any of these characteristics. We are hopeful these new labels show you how some of the ways you work every day, routine as they may be to you, truly reflect one or many of these elements. More importantly, we are hopeful these examples show you that your stories, too, do belong in the Bulletin. We're going to use this last issue of 2018 as a guide to show you what types of stories we think best show- case our company values, vision and mission. Consider it a trial run. What we're working towards is what the Bulletin has always strived for – building a more cohesive sense of Davey culture. After this issue, we hope you'll have a better idea of what "category" or "department" your story fits into in the Bulletin. Going forward, we'll need your help for this to not just work but excel. As always, we want your story ideas. Continue sending them via email to bulletin@davey.com or by calling me at 800-447-1667 ext. 8615. If you share them on social media, make sure to use the hashtag #daveytree. We monitor it and often pull great story ideas from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and elsewhere. Plus, it strengthens our brand presence on social media. But we may also reach out to your operations manager or supervisor. We'll be asking them for ways your team can help strengthen Davey culture by telling a story about our values, mission or vision. Be ready to tell your Davey story. And, keep it safe! LEADERSHIP is defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. IMPROVEMENT is defined as the action of improving or being improved. INTEGRITY is defined as being honest and having strong moral principles. SAFETY at Davey emphasizes the fundamental respect we have for our employees, clients, the public and the environment. All other departments in the Bulletin, such as "Letters" or "Service Awards," will get the "Davey green" label. EXPERTISE is defined as having expert skill or knowledge in a particular field. VISION: Provide solutions that promote balance among people, progress and the environment. RESOLVE is defined as having a firm determination to accomplish something.
