September/October 2017 | The Davey Bulletin 15
MY DAVEY
children's climb tree (a large white oak)
provides in a dollar amount in one year.
Davey also fielded a competitor. Felicia
Speranske, a climber from Davey's
West Chicago office, competed for
the first time in the female division of
ITCC. "Meeting a bunch of new Davey
people and feeling the support from
these people I didn't even know, along
with my Davey family, is what really
pushed me through," Speranske said.
COMING TO COLUMBUS
With a large, two-booth space, Davey
couldn't be missed at the International
Society of Arboriculture Annual
Conference this year. In one booth,
attendees had the opportunity to
talk economic benefits of trees,
browse The Shigo Collection exhibit
(in partnership with the ISA Southern
Chapter and U.S. Forest Service),
watch a video of Dr. Shigo and charge
their phones. On the other side,
employees from Davey Resource
Group (DRG), Utility services,
Residential/Commercial services and
Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc.,
a Davey company (WSSI), offices
were on hand to talk with attendees.
ITCC and ISA will be together again
in 2018, and the events will be held
in Columbus, Ohio.
"
Feeling the support … is what really pushed me through.
"
– Davey's Felicia Speranske, on competing at ITCC
Davey's booth at the ITCC encouraged attendees to try and guess
the total dollar amount of the benefits provided by this tree.
Just one of the aspects of the Shigo Collection on display
featured a collection of wood samples he collected throughout
his years of research.
