Jeff Parson
Midwest Utility services
Jeff Parson has been promoted
to regional vice president, Utility
services. In his new role, Parson
will oversee Davey utility operations
in the Midwest. He started with
Davey in 1982 in R/C services before
transferring to utility services that
year. He held positions of increasing
responsibility, including general
foreman, account manager and
regional manager before being
promoted to operations manager
in 2013. His is a past member of the
Davey President's Council, a past
recipient of the Davey Outstanding
Manager Award and a 1993 graduate
of D.I.T.S.
Zac Perry has been appointed to sales
arborist in the Atlanta R/C office.
Jeff Pettit has been promoted to
project manager in DRG Natural
Resource Consulting.
Don Roppolo has been promoted
to manager of arboricultural training.
Roppolo started his career in 1998 as
a research technician in the Morton
Arboretum. He joined The Care of
Trees in 2002. Roppolo has authored
curriculum for arboriculture programs
at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point, Mid-State Technical College in
central Wisconsin and Joliet Junior
College in Illinois.
Roppolo joined Davey in 2008 as
a regional trainer as part of the
acquisition of The Care of Trees by
the Davey Company. Since the merger,
he has served as a recruiter/trainer
and as an instructor for D.I.T.S. He is
an ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified
Tree Worker Aerial Lift Specialist
®
,
ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber
Specialist
®
, and a Tree Care Industry
Association Certified Treecare
Safety Professional.
Joe Shaw has been appointed to
sales arborist at the Cincinnati office.
Greg Snowden has been promoted
to senior associate consultant in
Davey Resource Group (DRG) Natural
Resource Consulting.
Thomas Weidner has been promoted
to assistant district manager in the
North East Chicago R/C office.
Jim Zwack has been promoted
to general manager of the Davey
Institute, the Davey Company's
premier research, development and
innovation division. Zwack, who has
more than 20 years of experience
in the green industry, started with
Davey in 2010 as director of technical
services after successfully helping
to lead and grow a startup plant
health care product sales company
in Minneapolis. At Davey, Zwack has
worked to improve technical services
provided by the Institute to the field.
Zwack holds a master's degree in
tree physiology from Iowa State
University and a bachelor's degree
in urban forestry from the University
of Minnesota. He has held numerous
leadership positions in industry
associations, is a former director
for the Society of Commercial
Arboriculture, and is a chair emeritus
for the TREE Fund.
