12 The Davey Bulletin | March/April 2017 Employees from the North Philadelphia Residential/Commercial office went bowling for charity to help raise money for the Children's Hospital of Philadel- BOWLING FOR A CHILDREN'S CHARITY phia. A total of 18 Davey employees and their families joined local landscap- ing partner Sauers Tree and Landscape Service Inc. for the fundraiser. The event supports the hospital's Early Life Program, which provides toys, education and creative arts therapy for children during their hospital stay. The Davey bowlers who helped raise money for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia included Jason Parker, Erin Parker, Adam Parker, Kate Parker, Chris Marshall, Katie Marshall, Bryn Marshall, Matt Buza, Alex Buza, Ian Buza, Eric O'Neal, Logan O'Neal, Bob O'Rourke, Mary O'Rourke, Marc Grose, Angela Molko, Steve Grose and Heather Grose. BOARD BULLETIN DONATIONS MADE PERSONAL Christine Handley, client experience coordinator, Long Island R/C office, donated a bag of Davey wooden key chains to non-profit Splashes of Hope. Children volunteers put their own personal touch on the key chains. Non-profit Splashes of Hope transformed some of Davey's donated, wooden key chains into colorful pieces of tiny art. Christine Handley, client experience coordinator, Long Island Residential/Commercial office, had no idea her donated bag of log-shaped pens and wooden key chains to Splashes of Hope, a Davey client, would transform into this. "The kids put their own personal touch on the key chains," Handley said. "It was all very sweet." Only Splashes of Hope – which is devoted to creating customized mural artwork for hospital environments and social service facilities – would think to turn a Davey keychain into a canvas. It goes to show, a small gesture of a donation can make a difference in the eye and imagination of a child.
