Meridith Perkins
Davey Resource Group
Meridith Perkins has been
appointed to urban forestry consortium
manager for Davey Resource Group's
natural resource consulting team
based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Jeff Peters has been appointed to
tax manager at the corporate office.
Peters will be responsible for Davey's
comprehensive tax reporting and tax
compliance in addition to strategic tax
management in support of business
performance. Peters has more
than a decade of experience in tax
management.
Peters, a certified public accountant,
is a graduate of the University of
Akron. He is a member of the Tax Club
of Cleveland and the Tax Executives
Institute, Inc.
Tim Walsh has been appointed to
safety manager at the corporate office.
Walsh will work on continuing
development, implementation and
evaluation of Davey's safety program.
His role will also support the company's
Road to Zero program, which is
designed to improve safety through
administering occupational safety
and health education and training
programs, monitoring initiatives and
promoting safe work practices.
APPOINTMENTS
He has more than 25 years of experi-
ence working in tree care safety,
which include several safety and
leadership positions he has held within
the industry. Walsh has bachelor's and
master's degrees in urban forestry
from the University of Wisconsin
Stevens Point, as well as a master's
degree in ergonomics and safety
from the University of Massachusetts
Lowell. He is currently pursuing a
doctorate in safety and ergonomics.
Coy Rose, Jr., retired Oct. 2, 2015
after 17 years of service. He was a
trimmer on the FirstEnergy account.
RETIREMENTS
Retiree Myrtal (M.D.) Burt passed
away Dec. 6, 2015. He started with
Davey in 1941. He retired in 1988 and
last served as senior account manager
on the Ohio Edison account.
We are saddened by the loss of
Luis Hernandez, who passed away
Nov. 24, 2015. He was a climber on
the San Diego Utility account.
Retiree Roy Koontz passed away.
He retired as a foreman on the Duke
Power account and served the Davey
Company for 45 years.
Retiree Edward Shuford passed
away on Nov. 13, 2015. Shuford started
with Davey in 1941. He retired in 1985
and last served as manager of the
South Carolina shop.
