H
ope, Arkansas, is a rural, 10-square-mile
town. But this small town has quite a
large claim to fame: it is the birthplace of the
42nd U.S. president, Bill Clinton.
Davey's Dallas R/C crew recently visited
Clinton's childhood home, but their intention
was more than to tour the visitor's center. The
crew, which included District Manager Brian
Cox, Foreman Jaime Medina, Trimmer Sergio
Espinoza-Dominguez, Groundman
Jose Reyes and Sales and Service Coordinator
Josh Rongish, performed maintenance on
a 100-year-old pecan tree in between the
former home and visitor's center. Services
included cabling, hazard pruning and deep-
root fertilization.

D
avey is filled with employees who have
amazing stories and backgrounds and
strive to do the best. One Davey employee
was featured in the RecruitMilitary magazine to
tell of his spirited background that landed him
on the Davey team.
Geoff Clark, sales arborist at the Akron
R/C office, was featured for his journey
through the U.S. Air Force Reserve to becom-
ing a current Davey employee.
RecruitMilitary, a publication for men and
women who are transitioning from active duty
to civilian life, described Davey as an ideal
company for veterans.
"We are looking for people that will do what
is asked the right way, the first time, even when
nobody is watching." Clark says. "Military
personnel fit the bill perfectly."
Clark is currently still serving in the U.S.
Air Force Reserve. With 18-and-a-half years
of service, he has recently been promoted to
senior master sergeant. He joined the Davey
team in 1999 as a foreman and was promoted
to sales arborist in 2012. He says that his service
in the military has helped him with attention
to detail, leadership, teamwork and integrity.
Clark included in the article Davey's motto,
"do it right or not at all," something that he
strives to fulfill every day.

Cox describes the home as "a neat little place
that takes care of its grounds." The home sits
on a small piece of land with railroad tracks
right beside it.
"This was as nice visitor center and
museum," Cox says. "It was definitely an
interesting place."
