28 | March/April 2014 Each day, The MyDavey Bulletin receives many letters of appreciation from Davey clients. Read some excerpts of these rave reviews. PG&E Sierra account I'm so happy to be writing you today after yesterday's close call. Allow me to fill you in. I was headed to Placerville, Calif., on a treacherous Sierra Mountain back road. Davey had put out several warning signs: "Prepare to stop, single lane ahead." But despite your best efforts, someone ran the stop sign, almost hit me and continued toward the tree crew. I just laid on the horn knowing the crew was close by. The speeding car blew right by me, past all the signs, up the hill and around the hairpin corner, just to find several Davey trucks parked in tandem, as well as cones, lane closure signs and traffic control in progress. Keep in mind that the following happened in about seven seconds. The speeding car was out of control, so the Davey traffic control officer tried to flag the driver down, while getting safely out of the way. He motioned to the bucket operator, who straightened the boom back to the truck. At the same time, the traffic control officer at the other end held the traffic that was just released. It was perfect. To the ground crew/traffic control officer: Thank you for being so professional, for being "on the ball." Your teamwork was so impressive. Whether you realize it or not, your quick response to a spontaneous, dangerous situation saved lives today. Outstanding —excellent job! Paul Church Pollock Pines, Calif. Tennessee Valley Authority account John Walls I want to commend Mr. Walls for the way he performed his job. He was courteous, respectful and honest in our dealings. Although I regret losing the trees, his professionalism made it much less painful than it might otherwise have been. Please pass on my thanks. Marc Neely Davey Resource Group Tom Lloyd I contacted PG&E about two weeks ago regarding a very large dead pine tree on the street in front of my house in Cambria. The branches are intertwined in the utility lines, and they appear to be holding the tree in place. Insects or other creatures have eaten at the base of the dead trunk area, making the status of the dead tree even more precarious and dangerous. In my opinion, it will only take an out-of- control car hitting the base of the tree or a strong wind storm to cause the tree to fall and create enormous damage to surrounding structures, cars passing by or neighbors walking their dogs. Recently I received a call from Tom represent- ing Davey Resource Group. Tom was polite, professional and very understanding of the situation. He agreed the entire tree was dead and most likely standing with the support of the branches intertwined in the lines. Tom convinced me he would pursue the effort to have the tree removed to avoid any potential danger. It is most satisfying for a homeowner to speak to such a kind and intelligent person as Tom and have my call of deep concern returned. I commend DRG for employing a represent- ative who comprehends the immediacy of the situation and is willing to pursue positive results. I would hope those in charge of DRG employees would take note of Tom's friendly business manner and thank him for his ability to transfer information and listen to clients, with plans to follow through. I thank you in advance for your time and effort in reading and responding to my letter. I look forward to the removal of the dead tree and the potential danger it might cause to be eliminated. Linda Muzinich Cambria, Calif. Portland, Ore., office The trees and shrubs look fantastic on both properties. Thanks for a super job and cleanup. Nancy Falconer Tualatin, Ore. Edmonton office Sylvio Rutter, Mike Bridgman, Mike Rivers I want to thank you and the team at Davey in Edmonton for some really great customer service. From the first smile offered to the last leaf cleared, Sylvio, Mike B. and Mike R. were the kind of employees Davey can be proud of. Each of them was quick, helpful, polite, cheerful and safety-conscious throughout the afternoon they spent working in our yard. As for my interactions with you, I can't remember the last time I had so much fun meeting someone. As our guide through the process of setting up an appointment for a quote and booking the tree and stump removals to invoicing, you were everything an exceptional project manager needs to be. Please make sure your boss reads this letter. He/she needs to know Davey has some excellent ambassadors on the front line in Edmonton! Anne Marie Resta Columbus office I recently contracted with Davey to have my sugar maple and crabapple pruned. We have used Davey for years and have always been quite pleased. This year I am thrilled beyond words. The crew came Friday afternoon. When I arrived home from work that evening, I did not immediately know the trees had been pruned. It was only after I walked down the driveway to get my mail that I saw the fresh cuts. They did a super fantastic job. The trees look fantastic, and the ground beneath shows no evidence of branches coming down. The shade canopy is still there, but everything has been thinned and is wonderful. On my behalf, please extend my compli- ments to the crew for a job very well done. I will continue to contact Davey for all my arboreal needs.
