Several Davey crews volunteer to chip Christmas trees for "tree-cycling" programs throughout the U.S. and Canada every year. Local residents drop off their "naked" real Christmas trees, and Davey crews feed them through a chipper. The result? Loads of fresh mulch ready for winter tree care and spring planting projects. You can see how Christmas trees spread any remaining bits of holiday cheer—and its natural, yet beautiful, décor—all year long. But to what extent, exactly? Tree-cycling by the Numbers Fortis AB account Apprentice Nathaniel Reece and Power Saw Operator Peter Visztenvelt, Fortis AB account crewmembers, provided equipment to help chip more than 300 Christmas trees from Stony plain residents. Victoria office Crewmembers from Davey's Victoria R/C office chipped approximately 1,850 trees for Chip In for the Kids, a tree-cycling program that benefits the local Easter Seals program. This year, the program collected $16,841 in donations.
