4 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | September/October 2026 ASK THE CEO So far, the results have been incredibly positive. Since March, when a large portion of our Motive units were online, we have decreased the number of unsafe events by 57.7 percent. For January through July, preventable incidents have decreased 32 percent compared with the same period in 2025. And since the program launched, there have been 11 instances where Davey drivers were exonerated when the video evidence showed they were not at fault when accused of being liable for the accident. All those reasons are why it's important to take a moment to applaud the collective effort and celebrate the employees who have helped implement the Motive program. There were some bumps along the road, but everyone pulled together in the same direction the way Davey employees always do, to achieve something benefi cial for all of us. As we continue to refi ne the way this program operates, we'll be well positioned in the future to take full advantage of the data, reporting and coaching Motive provides. And that will help us better protect our employees and their communities and help further reduce risk our drivers may be exposed to while behind the wheel of a company vehicle. For now, I want to thank everyone who was involved in helping Motive come to fruition. I encourage you all to take a moment to celebrate and recognize what you've achieved. You have played a critical role in helping make yourselves, your colleagues and your communities safer. Editor's note: Read more about Motive on page 9. A. Yes, the rollout phase is complete, and we're offi cially in the operational phase, so it's important to take a moment and celebrate this accomplishment. Davey's drivers, and the communities they work in, are signifi cantly safer since the launch of Motive (Davey's Driver Camera Safety Platform) in U.S. operations. The process started in early 2024 when the combination of our expanding fl eet size, growing number of vehicular incidents and improvements in the technology available made it possible for us to explore and implement a viable safety enhancing solution through our strategic planning process. An extensive evaluation of the available options was done by our management team, and the selection of Motive for our partner was made in late 2024. The rollout started in early 2025, and since then many fi eld em- ployees, managers, and support personnel have worked diligently to get this technology operational for approximately 7,000 vehicles and employee-drivers. Having cameras in our cabs represents a signifi cant and meaningful change in the way we use technology to teach and improve driving habits to enhance the safety of our drivers. Our fi eld management and operational personnel understand and appreciate that getting behind the wheel at Davey means getting behind the goal of the Motive program, which is to dramatically reduce vehicular incidents in our communities.
