CEMETERY CLEAN UP BEAUTIFIES COMMUNITY SPOT
After a strong localized storm hit Wynnewood, Pennsylvania,
and West Philadelphia, The Woodlands historic cemetery and
arboretum was left with debris scattered across its 54-acre
campus. Five crew members from the King of Prussia offi ce
responded that same weekend to help the property reopen.
"Keeping the grounds and paved surfaces clear of storm
debris allows Woodlands Mansions to continue in its mission
set down in 1840," Ryan Gallagher, plant health care techni-
cian, King of Prussia offi ce, Residential/Commercial services
(R/C), said. "There are also different gardening groups,
historical research groups, and educational events that all
require access to various parts of the grounds for research
and upkeep."
The offi ce chipped dozens of piles of brush that Woodlands
Mansions employees and volunteers had gathered the days
following the storm. Gallagher said being a part of a project
like this shows Davey
offi ces are committed to
helping their neighbors
when they need it most.
"The Woodlands are
important to their
section of Philadelphia
as a large green space in
the city, with numerous
walking trails in a safe
area," Gallagher said.
