CANADA EMPLOYEE SCORES BIG IN WORLD CUP VIDEO You say soccer; Tyler Swaine, climber, Muskoka offi ce, Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited, says football. Either way, the millions following the World Cup may have seen Swaine featured in the "O Canada" video created by Major League Soccer® (MLS) Canada, which is part of the documentary series National Anthems highlighting MLS players, national team stars and soccer fans from countries across the world celebrating the World Cup. "Davey having involvement in the World Cup is incredible," Swaine said. "The whole world is paying attention, and I think it's great to get our brand name out there in the spotlight." Swaine was not always a professional soccer fan. But after working at BMO Stadium, which was home to World Cup games this year, and seeing live games up close, he was blown away by the enthusiasm the fans had and became a Toronto FC fan himself. A producer from MLS had contacted Davey Canada about featuring an employee to show a typical Canadian working with trees and being in nature. Swaine was chosen to be part of the video due to recommendations from coworkers. "Being featured in the video was an honor and a bit nerve racking to be honest," Swaine said. "It was truly a personal challenge to get out of my comfort zone, which is something I'm sure many new climbing arborists have faced early in their careers. I was thrilled to have been a part of it and have a great sense of personal pride because of it." So, who was he rooting for? Canada, of course!
