4 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | May/June 2026 ASK THE CEO be a great facility to use for an industry event we have had a long history of participating in at a high level, and it was a wonderful way for us to give back to the arboriculture community. We are proud of our strong relationship with the ISA. The ISA continues to be a driving force for growth and excellence in our industry, and we were proud to support its mission by hosting over 1,000 people – including competitors, spectators, media and the public. They were a great partner for this event. The ISA is an important resource for the arboriculture industry, and we are proud to continue to support their work. This year's NATCC could not have succeeded without the close to 50 Davey volunteers working behind the scenes to organize and help run the event. I cannot say enough about the level of commitment from Davey employees, the number of hours they volunteered and the level of effort they put forth. Few companies can bring that level of resources to bear. Finally, I want to say congratulations to all the climbers who competed. I have total respect for these industrial athletes and the skill, passion, and commitment they have to be the best at what they do. I applaud all the climbers for their effort and commitment to our trade. Good luck to those headed to the International Tree Climbing Championship in St. Louis in October. A. We've been involved in climbing competitions, through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), for many years. Our employees have volunteered to help organize, judge and staff climbing competitions at the local and national level for decades. We have provided financial support as an event sponsor for numerous competitions. And Davey has had many employees compete as climbers over the years. When we built the new Davey SEED (Science, Employee Education and Development) Campus, there were so many components of it that were just naturally built into the landscape that just made it a good option as a venue for a tree climbing competition. So, it made perfect sense when the opportunity arose through our long-time partnership with the ISA to host this year's North American Tree Climbing Championship (NATCC), especially considering Davey has been a sponsor of the NATCC since 2016. The SEED Campus, which opened in August, is the first of its kind training and research facility in our industry, and its many beautiful mature trees provided the perfect setting for the various competition events. We heard nothing but positive feedback afterward on everything from the trees that were used to the ability to use the facility to get out of the brief weather we had, to holding the reception there when it normally would have been held somewhere else. That all showed how the SEED Campus proved to Q. WHY DID DAVEY HOST THE NORTH AMERICAN TREE CLIMBING CHAMPIONSHIP? Pat Covey Davey Chairman, President and CEO
