10 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | March/April 2026 EASTERN UTILITY CREWS SPREAD OUT IN MIDWEST, SOUTH Over 500 Eastern Utility employees worked in four states while responding to winter storm Fern, with tasks including clearing fallen trees from residential roads so line crews could gain access to neighborhoods completely blocked by trees and ice. Employees were dispatched to North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Louisiana. "It always amazes me how when a natural disaster happens, strangers become their neighbor's keeper," Mikel Ritch, general foreman, Gulf region, said. "My crews carried themselves in a professional manner, represented Davey and our region very well and worked alongside other Davey teams as if they worked with them on a daily basis. I feel very blessed and honored to be a part of something so much bigger than just living a day-to-day life." R/C RESPONDS TO AFTERMATH OF SOUTHERN STORM Across central Tennessee and northern Mississippi, 42 field employees from 10 different Residential/Commercial (R/C) services offices removed fallen trees from houses with cranes, removed trees uprooted or severely damaged, performed corrective pruning of damaged trees and hauled away debris. WINTER STORM FERN SHOWCASES DAVEY RESILIENCE MISSION Hundreds of Davey employees across multiple service lines worked tirelessly in freezing conditions to respond to Winter Storm Fern, a bliz- zard that brought severe wind, ice and snow across the Southeast, lower Mid- west and Northeast United States in January 2025. Davey CLS crews cleared snow along streets in cities like Norfolk and Alexandria, Virginia. Teams worked on a mix of residential, commercial and municipal properties, such as streets, parks and schools, all of which saw some level of ice-related tree damage. "It's awesome to be a part of this organization and know that support extends far and wide beyond our territory lines," Lukas Suzano, district manager, Nashville office, said. "Seeing other offices rally behind us with so many crew members willing to assist speaks volumes to the dedication of our people. Our communities were impacted extensively by this event, and knowing that we have such a force of support working around the clock to help is incredibly uplifting." CLS CREWS WORK NEAR NATION'S CAPITAL Commercial Landscape Services (CLS) crews from Mickman Brothers, Inc., a Davey company, and Minneapolis CLS dispatched roughly 15 plow trucks, three skid loaders and five fully staffed and equipped shovel crews to the East Coast to assist local Davey crews, who primarily focused on the Washington, D.C., and Virginia area. Work completed included snow removal and salting for multiple municipalities, keeping major highways clear around the clock and working on side streets in residential neighborhoods. Four major projects included snow removal operations for Virginia Department of Transportation, the City Of Alexandria, the City Of Norfolk and the City of Louisville. "The CLS storm team we are building has become quite impressive," Mackenzie Fjetland, account manager, Minneapolis CLS, said. "From those at the start putting
