By incorporating the experience and talents of multiple
divisions, Davey Resource Group (DRG) has been able to
solve challenges faced by its client, Oklahoma Gas &
Electric (OG&E).
OG&E had originally managed its program through another
provider, but in 2024, DRG partnered with OG&E on a
pilot project, assessing the strength of their standing
infrastructure and completing physical work to extend the
life of their existing electrical assets.
With collaboration between DRG's multiple divisions,
Davey completed pole and underground inspections and
loading analyses for 8,000 poles. DRG employees then
replaced or restored poles as needed, as determined by
their assessments.
"We are a well-oiled machine," Dan Srbinovski, area
manager, Utility Asset Management (UAM), DRG, said.
"We've been able to learn from people on our different
teams. Everyone has been great with communication, like
attending on-the-spot meetings. With this, we are able to
provide a better product for our client."
INTEGRATED WORK BRINGS SUCCESSFUL CLIENT EXPERIENCE
OG&E was so happy with the success of that program
that DRG became its preferred vendor. In 2025, the number
of poles DRG inspected increased to 27,000 and in 2026,
that number will rise to 40,000.
This year for OG&E, DRG will also handle pole
reclassification, where poles are reassessed and official
classification is changed on current structural capacity
and condition, and will expand its joint-use audit work and
underground inspection work. The DRG team members on
this project include Jim Corbitt, division manager; Dwayne
Morgan, account manager; Dana Pagley, account manager;
Chuck Pearson, account manager; Brittany Pridgeon,
project manager; and Dan Srbinovski, area manager.
"Working together, it's been incredible to be able to pick
up the phone, and within minutes, I have the help I need
from any of our groups — that kind of teamwork is
awesome," Brittany Pridgeon, project manager, UAM,
DRG, said. "We work as one team together and get what
we need done together. It's been a great journey."
