16 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | January/February 2026 CAREER DAY SHOWS STUDENTS ALL DAVEY HAS TO OFFER Over 120 students and faculty from colleges in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Kentucky experienced elements of the new Davey SEED (Science, Employee Education and Development) Campus at a Student Career Day event. At the SEED Campus, the group went through a day focusing on career opportunities at the company through the lens of Davey's six values. Students learned about: safety while studying how to properly set up a harness in the climbing center, expertise while walking through the labs, perseverance during demonstrations of the Industrial Athlete Program, leadership during a presentation in the barn, stewardship while on a bus tour around campus, and integrity during a speech by Davey Chairman, President and CEO Pat Covey. "I'm oftentimes traveling to campuses and collegiate tours, so it was a proud moment to welcome so many people to our own campus," Kristina Amerson, early talent specialist, corporate office, said. "This speaks to the fantastic client experience and client service we strive for, and it was great to see so many people touring the space and completing TRIO EMPHASIZE INDUSTRY COLLABORATION WITH STUDENTS During a guest lecture, a Davey trio gave students in the University of Massachusetts' Principles of Arboriculture class a real-world understanding on how arborists, landscape professionals, designers and contractors can work together to preserve trees. LEADERSHIP "Tree preservation is not just an arboriculture issue – it involves anyone who plays a role in how land is planned and managed," Barth, assistant district manager, Hartney Greymont, a Davey company, Needham office, Residential/Commercial services (R/C), said. "Trees provide endless benefits that are especially critical in the activities. Our team was grateful for the opportunity to showcase the work we do to more of the community and to our company."
