DAVEY PEOPLE
Over 150 volunteers from Davey beautified cemeteries,
memorials, parks and centers in 18 states at this year's Day
of Service event through Saluting Branches, an organization
working to honor American service men and women by
organizing volunteer tree and landscape care for property
dedicated to veterans.
Davey Tree is a national sponsor of the event, and David
Norris, who has attended nine of the organization's 11
events, said he looks forward to giving back with the
organization every year.
"We really do owe our veterans so much," Norris, crew
leader, Cleveland West territory, Commercial Landscape
Services, said. "The best part of the day is just seeing
everyone who comes out to volunteer their time and talent.
Saluting Branches is a wonderful organization, and this one
day of service really helps to keep these properties safe."
This time around, he read the proclamation that commenced
the volunteer event, and during the day, he helped a team
clean up some dead branches from a large maple tree and
power washed veterans' head stones.
