3 November/December 2025 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN IF YOU COULD ASK DAVEY'S CEO 1 QUESTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Employees of Davey Tree are incredibly fortunate to have the level of access that they do to our Chairman, President and CEO, Pat Covey. Each Bulletin issue, six times a year, employees get to hear directly from our CEO on a specific topic. This issue, Covey shares why he is thankful this holiday season for Davey's employee-ownership model and the culture it fosters. Earlier this year, he also shared his thoughts on: The 2025 Employee Experience Survey; the Davey Motive Telematics/Camera Driver Safety Platform; the SEED Campus; what we learned from the employee survey and how the company will act on it; and how we serve our clients through research. In addition to his Bulletin column, Covey also has been hosting a town- hall broadcast via Microsoft Teams™ about every two months since 2020. The heads of few privately owned companies are committed to that level of transparency. HOW ARE THE CEO QUESTIONS CHOSEN? Davey's corporate communications team supports both the townhall and the Bulletin column, so we are tasked with helping determine which questions are fielded. Matt Fredmonsky ROOT OF THE ISSUE Our Mission We exceed client expectations. Leadership We take purposeful action toward our collective success. Perseverance We create solutions to overcome challenges. Integrity We are honest and truthful in all we do. Safety We protect and care for each other. Expertise We use science and knowledge to master our craft. Our Vision We create and deliver sustainable solutions. Stewardship We make the world around us better. For the Bulletin, a list of questions is developed based on current company initiatives, and a combination of internal deliberation and conversations with Covey leads to selecting which question he will address in each issue. An emphasis is always placed on topics that address an issue that has the most potential for impacting the highest number of Davey employees, and priority is always given to employee-submitted questions. Often in the townhall, Covey is able to field more than one question (including the occasional lighthearted personal question) to provide even more insight into his leadership. HOW TO SUBMIT A QUESTION TO OUR CEO Often the best questions and answers result from topics submitted directly by our employees. Think about what you might ask if you were sitting down one-on-one with our CEO. What would you ask? We want to hear from you, so now's your chance. Submit your "Ask the CEO" questions to Bulletin@davey.com. Feel free to include "Ask the CEO" in the subject line, to ensure we capture your question. If your question doesn't make the Bulletin, stay tuned to the townhalls, because it might be answered there!
