THE DAVEY BULLETIN
As local climbing competitions continued throughout the U.S., two climbers
traveled across the globe to represent Davey and strongly compete at the
International Tree Climbing Championship in New Zealand as part of the
International Society of Arboriculture 2025 Annual International Conference.
CLIMBING COMPETITION ROUNDUP
Cody Schwartz, arborist skills trainer, (pictured) placed fifth in the
Masters' Challenge of the Michigan Tree Climbing Competition in
Midland, Michigan. He also placed second in the aerial rescue event
and third in the ascent event.
Kevin Ahn, Ethan Avery, Joe MacDonald, Matthew Regoni and Erik
Youngblood also competed in various categories, including rescue and
belayed speed climb, ascent, throw ball and the challenging work climb.
MICHIGAN
Kate Miller, foreman, Sacramento office, Residential/
Commercial services, (above) placed third in the throwline
event in the women's division of the International Tree
Climbing Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Libby Bower, tree care coordinator, Barrington office,
also competed, and Alex Julius, Emmett Shutts and
Tim Bushnell volunteered at the competition and
supported the climbers.
NEW ZEALAND
Clayton Lempp, arborist skills trainer, (pictured) competed in the
Pacific Northwest International Society of Arboriculture's Tree Climbing
Competition Chapter Championship in Portland, Oregon.
PACIFIC NORTHWEST
