18 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | November/December 2025 From the left: Alberto De La Riva Alfonso, Kevin Klein and Walker Tewell stand with their Davey Dollars after fulfilling the Davey value of expertise while on the job. Through the Davey Dollars program, 63 team members in Eastern Utility services this year have been recognized for going above and beyond in living out Davey's values. Operations leadership awards Davey Dollars, which can be redeemed for select items through Arborwear, to team members who demonstrate behaviors that align with com- pany values of leadership, expertise, perseverance, safety, integrity and stewardship. Real-life examples of rewarded actions include sharing an idea to increase efficiency or safety, earning client compliments and helping a community member in need. Alberto De La Riva Alfonso, Kevin Klein and Walker Tewell of Wolf Tree, Inc., a Davey company, also earned Davey Dollars for addressing a challenging oak tree dangerously overhanging a power line. With careful planning, precision and teamwork, they completed the job safely and efficiently, fulfilling the value of expertise. "I respect the needs of the customers and accounts we work for," Klein, foreman, Clinton Utility Board account, Wolf DAVEY DOLLARS REWARDS OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE ACTION Tree, said. "They don't want their trees to look bad, so I guide them in what they need and listen to what they want." Klein said his team has been a huge support during his time with Davey, and keeping company values at the forefront of his day on the job has allowed him to represent the compa- ny to the best of his ability. "It felt really good to be recognized for our accomplishments," Klein said. "I would definitely recommend this program to others and would encourage team members to work hard and support each other along the way." Programs like Davey Dollars give the company a chance to pause, recognize and celebrate these efforts across teams, said Autumn Dickerson, director of employee development, Eastern Utility services, corporate office. "What makes this program so great is that it celebrates those who truly live our Davey values," Dickerson said. "These team members go above and beyond what's expected and make a lasting impact through their actions." LEADERSHIP Q & A with Employees Lon McCaslin tree care coordinator Naperville office Q: What do you do to keep safety a priority for you and your crew? A: I always try to approach everything with an attitude of gratitude: I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to teach you about safety. I'm happy to keep you safe. I'm happy that you're going to make it home.
